About Mountain Springs Recovery
Nestled just north of Colorado Springs lies Mountain Springs Recovery, a high-quality residential facility that treats adults struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions. Their curriculum of care includes medical detox, gender-specific residential programming, aftercare, and specialized tracks for LGBTQ+ and professionals.
Personal And Qualified Care
Mountain Springs offers a personalized approach to treatment, providing unique, customized treatment plans that cater to the individual needs of the client. After a comprehensive assessment, a licensed team of experts helps determine the best possible strategy and therapies that will work for the client. While the length of their program varies from person to person, Mountain Springs offers 30, 60, and 90 day programs. During this time, clients will engage in an array of therapies using evidence-based models and holistic practices. Individual and group therapy sessions are rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational enhancement therapy (MET), and eye movement therapy (EMDR) to treat trauma and co-occurring conditions. Holistic offerings include massage, meditation, relaxation training, equine therapy, and hypnotherapy. Notably, Mountain Springs is a device-friendly facility and acknowledges the busy lives of professionals and executives by allowing laptops, notebooks, and smartphones for working professionals. Since they are a device-friendly institution, clients may continue to work while engaging in treatment.

My experience here at Mountain Springs Recovery has been great so far. When I first got here, I was hopeless and thought that this was probably a waste of time. The entire staff showed that they cared for me and my recovery even if I didn’t. After going to groups and learning about my addiction and my behaviors, I slowly started to change my beliefs about who I was. My counselor, Christina and my IOP facilitator, Peter have challenged me to see what kind of man I can become and have given me hope to what kind of life is possible for me. I would absolutely recommend MSR to anyone who is looking for help with their addiction and for an opportunity to have a new life.
I have been struggling with a meth addiction since I was 18. I’ve been in and out of countless treatment programs over the last 25 years of my life and nothing ever provided the resources I needed to live a life of recovery, until I came to Mountain Springs recovery. From the group facilitators to the Maintenance, these individuals genuinely care about the well being of the people that come here to get help. They offer Dharma recovery, meditation, Ti-Chi, AA, NA, Smart Recovery, equine therapy, animal therapy, there is a pool, 24 hour nurse staff….and so much more. There are no words to convey what MSR has done for my life. If you’re ready to break free from the chains of addiction this is where you want to be. This experience has positively impacted my life permanently ♡♡♡
This place has exceeded my expectations. I feel like the staff genuinely cares about your recovery and will go above and beyond to make sure you’re getting the support that you need. The facility is beautiful and the outings really helped me find joy in life apart from substances.
I was an inpatient at MSR in 2022, almost 2 years ago, and as this was my first rehab experience ever, it was literally everything I wanted and more. I flew all the way from Northern IL because I already felt so at home in Colorado and while researching online, I just felt like this was the one. I felt really blessed they took my insurance. I had an initial out of pocket payment of $300 and I believe my BCBS insurance took care of the rest. The facility itself actually used to be a hotel, and the layout of the campus/buildings and how they connect to each other are so so cool. The staff was kind, passionate, friendly, supportive, empathetic, and understanding while still being a very motivational, no nonsense team of leaders. As long as you don’t act like a jerk/fool, the staff is pretty relaxed. We got to use our phones, laptops, etc. The gym was a great stress reliever. And the pool- don’t even get me started on how fun that was. We had a certain schedule during the day and we had evenings free to do what we please. The food they provided was a variety of healthy, fresh cooked meals (kitchen staff was so sweet, too). Once you reach the PHP level, you’re allowed to join a group (think it’s called S.M.A.R.T) that does outside activities like hiking, swimming at a lake, equestrian, etc. AND they had field trips I think every week. Really cool places too. Therapy/counseling that is 1 on 1 a couple times a week. We even had a sandpit with a volleyball net up where we even held our own tournaments. Honestly, it was dope… I’m not even kidding, of course there were times I just wanted to go back home, but 90% of the time- I didn’t want to leave. I never got to go to college, but I called MSR “sober college” because of your class/group schedules, extracurricular activities, the food, the “dorm rooms”, etc. I could go on and on but overall, It was great and I highly recommend it to anyone.
“I I just completed 120 days of treatment at Mountain Springs Recovery and I couldn’t be more grateful for the support and care I received. The staff was incredibly compassionate and knowledgeable, creating a safe and welcoming environment for healing. The therapy sessions with Olivia were insightful and effective, helping me gain valuable tools for my recovery journey. I highly recommend this treatment center to anyone seeking help and support on their path to wellness. I want to especially thank the director of operations David Perez for leading this facility and encouraging all clients like myself to strive for a better future and that recovery is possible. Thank you again “Mountain Springs and the entire team for their dedication and commitment to helping others thrive.”
My husband is currently at Mountain Spring Recovery. The place is very clean and well maintained. All the staff is exceptional and very caring. My husband Brian has told me that the Operations Director David cares about each and every client. My husband has told me that so far he feels more confident to return to the real world with the tools they have provided. This place also incorporates a personalized therapist for every client. This place is highly recommended if your serious about recovery.
Overall this was a descent experience. The individual therapy was amazing. Shonda is great! This is still a new program on the mental health side of things so there are some things that could be better structured and programmed but they are actively working on it. Overall I had a good experience
I was there for mental health reasons. I was so broken and lost. I thought nobody could help/fix me. I knew a hospital NEVER going to happen! I googled and I’m so blessed to have found this place. It’s homie and everything and everyone just flows. It works IF YOU WORK IT! I’m not good at putting my feelings and everything into words but this place saved me from a dark dark place and a scary scary place. At 42 I can say I love myself for the very first time. They got me back on my feet and to a place close by to help me finish my journey. Thank you all so much. I love you all.
Honestly I had my doubts with the mental health program as it is a new program. But I absolutely loved Mountain Springs! The employees are all AMAZING. Facilitators like Sherri, Crow, and Ryan are compassionate and honestly cared about my journey. I learned exercises and techniques to help with my anxiety and depression. MHT’S/BHT’S like Fernando, Vivian, Max, Jason were very helpful, made me feel comfortable, and made my stay easier! I met lifelong friends during my stay. Food was good… I actually wished I would have extended my 30 day stay to a 60 day stay but due to family responsibilities I was unable. QMAP staff was also amazing and friendly. Venus and Nicole always went out of their way, and are the sweetest ♡ If I ever feel I need to help again I know exactly where to go. I send a huge thank you to all staff that was involved in my care!
All and all a 8/10 . The faculty is a remodeled Ramada. Lots of stairs and walking between buildings. You’ll have Roommate similar to you. The room and bedding is cleaned weekly. You can bring your cellphone and laptop. But the wifi is poor around peak times. I had to use my phon’s hotspot 80% of the time . The food is 4/5. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner with snacks in between ( bagels, toast , lunch meat , cream cheese , jams , butter , coffee, tea, cereal . They have vending machines for soda, chips and candy. The groups are a mixed bag of teaching styles . Depending on who you are . You’ll have your favorites. But each one had an excellent perspective. They also have peer lead groups such has AA, Dharma , NA. The extra activities they offer . The pool is clean and heated . They have fishing poles for their pond. The club house and library. You’ll be in there with many walks of life suffering with different addictions . Remember you are there for you . You’ll be in the mountains . The weather changes rapidly. So pack accordingly. Also bring a reusable water bottle . I recommend this place . Just make sure your insurance covers a majority of it.
