Nestled on 400 acres of serene farmland, Williamsville Wellness is a residential treatment center specializing in substance use disorder and gambling addiction. Since its establishment in 2007, Williamsville has distinguished itself as one of Virginia’s premier centers focusing on gambling addiction. Central to their success is their commitment to individualized care. Williamsville provides 15 one-on-one sessions per week, drawing from traditional talk therapy, trauma-informed approaches, schema therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy. While individual therapy forms the core of their program, Williamsville ensures a holistic approach by offering a diverse range of therapies including sessions with a personal trainer, massage therapy, art therapy, yoga, and hypnotherapy. In addition to residential therapy, Williamsville offers an online Day Treatment (PHP) program for substance abuse, comprising 5 treatment days per week, Monday through Friday, featuring a 3-hour group session from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. along with daily individual sessions. Recognizing the importance of ongoing treatment and support for long-term recovery and wellness, Williamsville collaborates closely with clients to develop individualized aftercare plans, facilitating transitions into outpatient support and arranging psychiatric/medical follow-ups.

Williamsville Wellness boasts four residential properties, including the Cabaniss Lane house situated in Richmond, Virginia, a beautifully renovated home accommodating up to 16 residents. The picturesque estate and tranquil surroundings offer a truly unique setting for recovery. Clients indulge in gourmet meals prepared by in-house chefs and partake in recreational outings and off-site events, ensuring a fulfilling experience. With a commitment to personalized care, Williamsville Wellness maintains a remarkable 1:1 client to therapist ratio, providing a comfortable and supportive environment for clients on their path to wellness.

I could go in great detail about this place and the good it did me, but to be concise, I’ll say this: coming here was the best decision I’ve ever made for myself. If you or a loved one is struggling with substance abuse/gambling addiction, this is the best spot you could go to in terms of getting help. Thank you guys for everything!

I attended Williamsville Wellness 2 years ago. When I attended I was broken and had just came clean to my wife about a gambling problem that I had hidden from her. Monetarily, I lost everything and was expecting to lose my wife, access to my child, my house, and my business. I came in with a very open mind because I finally was at the point where I knew that the fantasy of solving all my problems by one big win was just that a fantasy and not reality. I had tried that for years but there never came a win big enough to solve any of my problems, which brought me back to gambling where eventually I lost all the money I had access to again and had even more problems. I tried to stop on my own many times and always found myself back and every time I went back the losses got bigger and bigger.
My goals were to maintain my relationship, manage a business I was losing interest in, find balance in my life while caring for two small children, and overcome my mental health issues. When we initially started, even though I knew I needed help, I was quite resistant to change. With the help of Williamsville, I transformed and developed into something better!
Wonderful program for gamblers that need treatment. There are not many rehab places for gamblers and this one is outstanding! After attending and going through the Williamsville Wellness program, I feel I am able to abstain from gambling and understand the recovery process and am on the road to a healthier, happier life. I had an incredible experience at Williamsville Wellness. Two words come to mind when I think about the staff: love and expertise. The amount and caring and love they show their patients during and even after their stay is unmatched. The expertise brought to the table by the staff is also on another level. The peer counselors have the necessary lived experience and know how to translate that experience to help people come up with the path to recovery thanks to a sustainable long-term plan. The therapists are skilled at running groups and doing individual therapy and help clients do as deep as necessary during their stay. The grounds are amazing, the food is incredible, and I cannot think of a better place or overall experience that you would be able to find anywhere else, when faced with the challenge of having to put your life back together. 8 years later, I still am extremely close with my peer counselor and recently exchanged phone calls and emails with the clinical director.
I had a few individual therapy sessions every day, plus some really good group sessions. The therapists and peer counselors were all great—exceeded my expectations haha!!. The food was delicious, and the accommodations were pretty good.
I had a great experience at Williamsvile Wellness. Everyone was fantastic, food was 5 star. Amazing staff. The old plantation is beautiful. This place turned my life around. Counseling especially, they actually care.
This place changed my life. I didn’t really think I needed treatment, but agreed to go, and I will never regret that choice. Wonderful place to be, and an extraordinary counseling staff as well.

I consider myself SO lucky to have gone here for the help I needed. Every one of the staff made me feel welcomed and comfortable from day 1. I really can’t say enough good things but every therapist and councilor were warm and inviting and gave me the knowledge I needed for my recovery.
