Peak View Behavioral Health Colorado
Specialized Programming
Peak View Behavioral Health offers a continuum of care tailored to adolescents, adults, and seniors grappling with mental health and substance abuse disorders through their dual-diagnosis inpatient, outpatient, and aftercare services. They provide specialized and personalized care for teens, young adults, military personnel, and seniors. A multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists and clinicians administers multi-modal psychotherapy, incorporating evidence-based methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care.
At the outset of the inpatient process, Peak View conducts a comprehensive assessment and diagnosis, offering rapid stabilization services for acute psychiatric issues or detox services as required. Patients then transition to residential care, where they receive individually tailored treatment plans in a home-like environment boasting mountain views and serene surroundings, along with amenities like courtyards and gymnasiums.
The facility provides specialized services for adolescents aged 12-17 necessitating acute inpatient psychiatric care, delivered by master’s level therapists and physicians. In addition to assessment and diagnosis, Peak View collaborates with patients and their families to stabilize and effectively address psychiatric, emotional, and behavioral challenges, with ongoing aftercare support.
Peak View’s mental health treatment encompasses individualized care, medication management, educational classes, and discharge planning. Patients of all ages in crisis can access evidence-based, experiential, and recreational therapies for inpatient psychiatric or substance abuse treatment. The facility also offers elective electroconvulsive therapy for patients grappling with severe depression, suicidal ideation, or bipolar disorder with severe episodes of depression and mania that do not respond to conventional treatment.
For adults contending with substance use disorders, Peak View delivers medically monitored detoxification, personalized treatment addressing co-occurring issues, relapse prevention planning, and aftercare services. The detox process is overseen by trained medical staff around the clock in a secure and comfortable environment. Clients engage in individual and group therapy, receive addiction education, and undergo dual-diagnosis treatment for mental health disorders like depression and anxiety, supplemented by trauma-informed care.
Continuum of Care
Peak View Behavioral Health’s outpatient services comprise full-day treatment sessions, 5 days per week. Patients partake in skill-building exercises, therapeutic processing, and client-centered care featuring evidence-based modalities. Alongside their partial hospitalization program (PHP), they offer an intensive outpatient program (IOP) as a transitional step, followed by outpatient visits either in-person or virtually as the final stage of care. Experiential therapies such as yoga, art and music therapy, and animal therapy are integrated into the outpatient programs, catering to adolescents and adults grappling with mental health or co-occurring substance abuse disorders, with sessions ranging from 3-5 days per week for 3-6 hours daily, depending on the program.
Peak View Behavioral Health’s comprehensive care model includes family involvement and education, along with up to 12 months of aftercare visits and services. The facility facilitates access to community resources, referrals, and assists patients in connecting with local alumni networks. Peak View Behavioral Health accepts a wide range of major insurance providers, with transportation assistance potentially available on a case-by-case basis.

My son was saved from having to go to a residential center. That was his next step. They took time to get to know him and reviewed his meds. Took away useless medications and introduced new ones that really helped. He is now thriving in school and home. I cannot say enough positive things about Peak View.
This place has the BEST Geriatric Level of Care for Psychiatric patients in the entire city of Colorado Springs!!! My Mom is a senior and had difficulties with her mental health symptoms and required medicine adjusting. This facility got her stabilized quickly and kept great communication with me throughout her nearly 3 week stay. I visited almost daily and saw all the staff in action who lovingly, respectfully, and kindly treated even the most difficult patients that were there. Hats off to those who choose this profession as mental health patients are NOT the easiest to deal with. The staff in Unit 200 were top notch!!! Linda, Bob, Dr. Underwood, Amy, Barbara were so kind and answered my many questions!) Don’t hesitate to take your loved one here for fabulous care in the Geriatric Unit!
I have seen nurses and staff here give their 100% effort. Patients that give poor reviews think they are entitled to whatever they want and most of them attack staff and curse them out( per my sons statement). If you are coming here to get help, and truly want help….you will get it. Nurse Bobbie and Ben were amazing to my family member. They returned calls and made an effort to fix the doctors mistake with my sons prescription. Drs are human and mistakes happen. However, to take the initiative after hours to ensure my sons mental health…wow. My son has changed and I feel like I got my boy back again. He almost took his life. Like I said if you aren’t looking for a place to stay, looking for drugs, or the Hilton Hotel…you will get the help you need . Thank you PVBH.
I am going to read these reviews. However, whenever you might need to get help or support or safety for oneself or one’s loved one it is comforting to know they provide complimentary assessments 24/7/365 days on behavioral, mental health, addictions or the combinations of struggles. Being available and open to save and help anyone in desperation, that’s over 5 stars to me!
I stayed at Peak View two times, one in 2020 and the other in 2022, my first experience wasn’t the best, but my second stay was the best, I learned about in patient and out patient, and gained more information then from my first stay, I did in patient and out patient, and just learned so much about mental health, even made some friends. Candace was the best she was so friendly to me and was there for me .
The food was good even though I didn’t have an appetite at the time the staff was exceptionally professional it was better than any other place I’ve been to I was the one that was difficult to deal with and they acted and and adapted accordingly I have nothing but the utmost respect for this place!
Bad reviews come from involuntary patients that have been brought in on holds because they weren’t able to stay safe. Family reviews are from an uneducated side of things. Mental health is just like medical health. If you are looking for help and are willing to participate in your own treatment, this place not only helps you but sets you up for success. My cousin left with medication prescriptions, information about those meds and after care appointments that her insurance covered. It’s hard to set that up when you are clinically depressed , she tried to kill herself, therapy and meds were something she didn’t care about …peak view did . The team from the nurses to social workers and therapist all do their part and help .
I know a lot of people don’t say this but thank you Peak View you saved my favorite cousins life
This place was awesome. The staff treated me with the utmost respect and kindness.
I feel they were very professional.
They took me from a dark place and gave me hope. I hope I can make them proud and keep myself away from alcohol.
Thank you for being there for me.
I have been here multiple times, let’s face it life gets hard. Here you’re greeted with kindness and compassion.
Unit 200 was where I was and Everett and Ryan, the day and nighshift nurses were so unbelievably attentive. They truly care about the people they serve. Dana and Morena were the techs during my stay and are absolutely Rockstars. I wish there was more therapy throughout the day as it would make the time there more valuable.
When I first found out I was going here for treatment, I won’t lie I was very nervous and concerned. Seeing all the bad reviews on here made me wonder whether I should go outside of the springs. I decided I would give it a shot, and I’m so glad I did! Honestly these people don’t get enough credit for all the care they do. The therapists, psychiatrists, doctors, and techs went out of their way to make sure I was properly cared for. Special shout outs to Tee the tech that I had on my first day and Oscar the nurse I had for a main portion of my stay. Tee went above and beyond and had a fantastic attitude! She was super personable and made my first day a bit easier to get through. Oscar was an amazing nurse and always gave me a fist pump after med pass. The food was better than dorm food but definitely not 5 star status. I really took a lot away from the group sessions and working with the docs individually. They were able to figure out a diagnoses that had gone unnoticed for several years. They listened to my concerns about starting a new medication and the possible side effects I would deal with. Overall they made sure I got the right meds, added on vitamins that I was deficient in, and made sure to provide my family with regular updates as to my treatment and my overall wellbeing. For being a psychiatric hospital, this place did a fantastic job and provided the best comfort they could, while making sure all the patients felt safe and heard. I can’t begin to describe how much this place made a difference for me and being able to help me continue on my path to recovery. Thank you for everything Peak View!
