Since 1971, Odyssey House of Utah, a non-profit substance abuse program, has offered specialized care to a broad range of individuals and families, addressing addiction and co-occurring mental health concerns.

Outpatient Program for Teens

For adolescents aged 12-18 dealing with mental health, substance abuse, and co-occurring disorders, Odyssey House conducts a comprehensive initial assessment, crafting tailored treatment plans. The after-school intensive outpatient program (IOP), meeting five days a week for three hours per day, offers transportation assistance. Certified addiction specialists, counselors, and mental health professionals, including psychiatric providers, address co-occurring conditions such as depression, anxiety, mood disorders, antisocial personality disorder, and trauma.

Clients typically undergo treatment for 3-4 months, receiving ongoing support post-successful completion, aimed at sustaining long-term sobriety and fostering stable, independent lives.

Family Engagement

The teen IOP prioritizes accountability and establishing a robust recovery foundation through evidence-based treatment models. Tailored to teens with challenging behaviors, the approach integrates various treatment services, including 1-on-1, group, and family therapy, alongside psychoeducational groups, psychosocial rehabilitation, and coaching with a family peer support specialist.

Family peer support specialists aid parents/guardians in acquiring coping, problem-solving, and life skills, tailored to their family’s needs. Their involvement extends to in-home visits weekly, offering ongoing support and guidance.

Inclusive Quality Care

As the largest comprehensive addiction program in Utah, Odyssey House prioritizes empowering individuals to heal and construct better lives. Their commitment to accessible treatment is evidenced by their ability to provide low-cost, quality services, bolstered by Joint Commission accreditation and acceptance of Medicaid and most major insurance providers.
