Meridian’s Maternal Treatment Program: Supporting Mothers in Recovery
Meridian’s Maternal Treatment Program offers outpatient care for mothers struggling with substance use disorder while caring for their newborns. Their primary goal is to reduce the number of infants admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experiencing withdrawal symptoms. The program utilizes a holistic approach, combining prevention, education, treatment, and community support for mothers in recovery.
Addressing the Whole Person
Meridian’s program addresses the well-being of mothers in crisis and the impact on their children. Treatment includes individual and group counseling focused on trauma, parenting, and nutrition. Medication-assisted treatment, case management, and care coordination with pediatricians are also provided. Meridian Health also collaborates with programs offering residential care and sober living homes for pregnant women in need.
