McCallum Place

Utilizing intensive medical and psychological approaches, McCallum Place addresses eating disorders across all age groups: children, adolescents, and adults. They operate in two locations: St. Louis, catering to children aged 10 and above, and Kansas City, focusing on adolescents aged 12 and above. Both locations offer services for adults. McCallum Place provides round-the-clock monitoring, nutritional education, guidance from dieticians, and academic support facilitated by on-site teachers and tutors.

Collaborative, Compassionate Care

At McCallum Place, treatment teams consist of psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists for children and families, physicians, nurses, dieticians, and sports medicine professionals. In their residential program, clients benefit from regular one-on-one sessions with psychologists, three weekly individual sessions with eating disorder therapists, and weekly sessions with dieticians. The care team convenes weekly to synchronize goals and monitor progress, offering continuous support during meals and snacks and providing medical interventions like nasogastric tube feeding when necessary.

Treating Eating Disorders And Co-Occurring Conditions

McCallum Place addresses a spectrum of eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge-eating disorder, body dysmorphia, laxative abuse, and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID). In addition to primary eating disorders, they treat concurrent mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), trauma, self-harm, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and personality disorders.

Multiple Care Levels And Treatment Tracks

The facility offers various levels of care, including residential treatment, day treatment, intensive outpatient programs, and transitional housing. Their day treatment options include an Extended 10-hour day and a Traditional 6-hour day, available six days a week. They also offer a specialized recovery program, the Victory Program, designed for athletes seeking treatment for eating disorders while receiving athletic support from sports psychologists, coaches, and sports dieticians.
