Last Door provides addiction recovery services tailored to youth and adult males aged 13-30, offering private medical detox, residential recovery programs, and family-focused enhancement programs for partners, parents, grandparents, and siblings. The typical duration of stay ranges from 3 to 5 months, with many residents also availing Last Door’s long-term transitional living program, extending up to one year.

Renowned as the Recovery Capital of Canada, Last Door Recovery Society hosts one of the nation’s largest recovery communities. Nestled in New Westminster BC, Last Door offers individuals an immersive and highly structured recovery environment aimed at cultivating Recovery Capital on a personal level. Embracing the holistic approach of the Building Recovery Capital movement in Canada, Last Door integrates this philosophy with the utilization of My Recovery Plan Software, which enables continuous monitoring and assessment of clients post-treatment. Using their own tablets, clients review their Recovery Capital Assessment and weekly recovery goals, enabling Last Door to capitalize on clients’ strengths and address their service needs. The program also emphasizes practical life skills, fostering a sense of responsibility and daily engagement. Clients benefit from peer support and camaraderie, with group work, directed interventions, peer support, and written exercises serving as primary tools for creating a supportive recovery environment. Therapeutic groups explore a range of themes including loss, grief, self-esteem, communication, stress management, sleep enhancement, anger, leisure and recreation, relationships, and anxiety management. Family involvement and discharge planning are integral components of the program.

Last Door offers homely settings within an urban environment and organizes weekly retreats to their Keystone Facility, situated one hour outside Vancouver. Spanning 50 acres of rural land, the Keystone property facilitates horticultural therapy, recreational therapy, and wilderness therapy. Throughout the program, clients are accommodated in comfortable homes, starting with shared arrangements and transitioning to private bedrooms as they progress. Cozy common areas equipped with couches and TVs enhance the residential experience.

Through its innovative program, Last Door is at the forefront of healing young adults and their families from addiction and co-occurring mental health issues.
