There are not enough words to express my gratitude to Honey Lake Hazel House and the staff. They saved my daughters life. She came home a different child and is now happy, talkative, and ready to take on the world. The therapists, aides, equine staff, and clinical director are some of the most amazing people I have ever met. They truly care about our girls and care about helping them get better. My daughter had a wonderful experience and has nothing but wonderful things to say about her stay there and the staff that she encountered. They truly are doing Gods work and helping to save his children. I will forever and ever be grateful to all of them for brining my daughter back.

I went to Honey Lake in 2020 anxious and unsure of what I was about to experience. The staff was phenomenal, explaining everything in a delicate but concise manner so that I could get the full benefits of my stay from the very beginning. The Equine Therapy Program at honey lake really gave me the hands on experience I needed to therapy and I recommend it for anyone staying at the clinic. I left Honey Lake with a much more positive outlook on my future and the tools I needed to succeed at home. The alumni program at Honey Lake is world class and I still participate it in via zoom 3 years later. The Christ centered aspect of Honey Lake promotes an environment of spiritual healing that really helped me persevere through life’s challenges after I left the clinic. Thank you Honey Lake!

Amazing. This place saved my life. The therapists (especially mine, Knox, psychiatrists (Maryn who was wonderful and brilliant), the EQ Staff, the techs (especially Matthew, Chris & Daryl), the nurses (especially Slade, Carol, Jay, Miss Linda and Miss Lisa) the Pastoral Care (Pastor Jacob, Pastor Nathan, Pastor James, Pastor Nicole and Pastor Perry and my man Pastor John Panico), the dining staff (especially Miss Jessica), patient services (especially Joneshia and Miss Q), the awesome wellness staff (Dawn, Dee & Stephanie), the spa rockstars (Emily Sue & Kathy), Miss Sherri (who holds the whole place together), the security staff (especially Anthony), all the instructors (especially Rebecca, Ted & Stephanie), my case manager Aaron and his wonderful mom Beth who runs the clinical department. And especially, all of the other residents, who allowed me to be vulnerable and talk openly about all of the issues I had. Through my time there, I was given the ability to deal with my BIG 7… anxiety, depression, panic attacks, bi polar, ADHD, OCD and PTSD from childhood trauma. They taught me how to cope and live with all of these and have sent me home the real ME. There are not enough words to express how grateful I am for my time at HLC. This place saved my life and has changed me forever for the better. God does answer prayers and He brought me to HLC when I was hopeless and had hit my rock bottom. This place saved my life!

We got our daughter back!

Our daughter is 15 and she struggled with anxiety, depression, panic attacks, self harm (one instance requiring 15 stitches), and suicidal ideation with an attempt that led us to an inpatient setting.

We tried therapy, prayer, medication – and nothing was stopping the cycle of stress > self harm > hospital.

It was at our most desperate place we found Honey Lake. I read the reviews and some concerned me; but we felt like this was our last ditch effort. We had tried everything else.

Every interaction with them prior to admission was wonderful.

Dropping our daughter off was hard – but we had clarity on what to expect. They were very upfront about the routines and schedules and what things would look like.

I came to Honey Lake October of 2017 from a recommendation of Pastor John Panico. I walked in with severe Heroin/opiate & Xanax addiction, Anxiety, and severe depression. Heroin being the one to bring me to my knees. I thought I had zero hope left to be any type of productive person in this world. I felt like a walking dead man. I was picked up at the Tallahassee bus stop by a girl name Paren who showed me nothing but compassion, I then arrived to Honey Lake and was met at the car by a Women named Nurse Rena who gave me a hug “I will never forget that hug for as long as I am alive”. I then met Beth, the techs Ted, Slade, Amber, Aaron, Gaige, Jawanda, my counselor Sharon, Dr. Benzio, Charity, Wendy, Sara, and some that I can’t remember.

Honey Lake changed my life. I came in struggling with depression and substance use and the 30 days I spent here completely turned things around. The staff truly cares, there is structure but still autonomy to spend time reading or running or watching a movie with other residents. It was the perfect combination of mind body spirit; didn’t beat you over the head with the Bible but it was integrated into every aspect of healing until I couldn’t help but encounter God in a way I never had before. I made lifelong friends there, received great therapy, and brought back coping skills I can use for the rest of my life. I left in better shape physically mentally and spiritually. If you commit yourself to showing up you will get better. Doesn’t hurt that the facilities are top notch the food is good I would say 80% of the time and you have a true sense of peace on property. If you are to the point of needing inpatient help; stop looking around and come to Honey Lake.

Honey Lake saved my life several times over.

I went in October of 2023 and stayed for 45 days. I had been scared of inpatient treatment going in, but I can safely say that Honey Lake was one of the best things to happen to me.

I met so many wonderful people that I can’t even begin to list them all. Everyone was kind and genuinely wanted to help.

My therapist was very helpful and listened when I shared my concerns. My psych provider really helped me not only balance meds, but improve myself.

There were a lot of classes, which helped me gain an understanding of myself and why I had fallen into the patterns I had.

I loved the horses and the trail was beautiful.

I suppose I will be partial as I work here. But it didn’t start that way. I had a friend struggling with bipolar and addiction back in 2017, and was looking for a Christian facility with dual diagnosis. I was invited to the campus, and to be a guest speaker. I have not only been going out there ever since. My trips out there were more and more frequent, and God placed it on our hearts as an organization to make sure we put something in place for aftercare. It started with zoom meetings that allow us to continue the conversations that were had on campus regarding God and mental health. This has grown into multiple zoom meetings per week, and access for our alumni to have spiritual care and safe community . Since 2017, John we have had close to 3000 people come through for care. No matter when someone graduated the program, they are welcome on these meetings to this day if they need support and safe community. The incredible thing? Offering these services is not something HLC can bill for. This is simply offered because they acknowledge how important it is have a safe place to continue to conversation.

Honey Lake has been a really good experience for me. I went to Honey Lake at a pivotal point in my life and the experience left me as a better person and feeling a deeper connection with God. I’m thankful for my time there and am also thankful for the after care that’s provided. I am especially thankful for the genuineness in some of the staff who are dedicated towards the health and wellness of others and their devoted direction in and through Christ. Thank you Honey Lake for providing a place for me even after I’m gone. I’m grateful for the community offered and the trustworthy and passionate leadership held by many I have grown to respect and admire, both clients and staff.
