Located in Stamford, Connecticut, Discovery Mood & Anxiety Stamford specializes in adolescent treatment, offering a tranquil environment surrounded by nature and providing 24-hour care. Designed for adolescents aged 11 to 17, the facility offers treatment for mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, self-harm, and co-occurring conditions.
The highly trained staff at Discovery employs evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) in both individual and group settings. In addition to therapy, clients continue their education with onsite educational liaisons providing 3 hours of schooling daily, focusing on academic reintegration.
Family Engagement
Recognizing the pivotal role of family support in the recovery journey, Discovery offers a comprehensive family program allowing for active participation. Family programming includes 90-minute counseling sessions, engaging activities and outings, and multi-family groups followed by dinner. These activities are scheduled weekly, providing families ample opportunities to participate in the treatment process.
