The care here is amazing, the nursing staff are very caring and supportive while the therapists are excellent at doing their job and the consultants are highly experienced practitioners – I would recommend Dr David Wood.
Unlike other psychiatric hospitals the Priory has a relaxed approach to its therapy which may sometimes appear lax or slow but it’s proven to work, I know patients who have left to go elsewhere and returned within a week once they have experienced other care providers.
The Priory have a policy of treating you like an adult while fostering a safe and secure environment. It’s not to be forgotten though that this is still a psychiatric hospital, not a hotel, and should be measured as such, consequently there will be some patients who will not have enjoyed their time here as you can imagine; the Priory caters for patients with varying degrees of mental illness and sometimes those with issues higher up the scale will find the care contrary to their wishes out of necessity.

I returned home on the 19th July, following a 28 day admisssion for alcohol treatment.
From the moment I arrived , any nervousness I had about my decision to come disappeared. Nothing was too much trouble and the care I received from all departments was exemplary.
I extend my eternal thanks, in particular to all therapists on the A.T.P team. The programme is fantastic.
I genuinely believe I will be able to credit them with saving my life.
If anyone has any concerns about being admitted here, please don’t. You will learn and laugh at the same time .
Many thanks to all involved in my care and therapy

The experience I had at Priory Hayes was great from the beginning. From the friendly reception team to my Therapist Sarah Maddocks. Sarah was really easy to build a connection with and is a great listener. Once we had gotten to know each other and identified some of my ongoing concerns (anxiety and depression) she started to help me get to the origin of these and provided me with a heap of practical tools that I have used to alleviate these symptoms. If I do ever feel anxious now I have the tools to process, self soothe and manage my emotions even when in stressful situations or environments. The way Sarah balanced the sessions with practical and emotional support really worked for me. I learnt a lot about myself and found the whole process extremely helpful.

Phenomenal place. Therapists are the best there is. Whole team of doctors, nurses, kitchen staff and HCAs provide the best chance ever for someone to get the help they need. I recommend the Priory Hayes wholeheartedly, no reservations whatsoever.

Accommodation, People, Food all lovely…but that not what I went for, it’s a great place to springboard your recovery from addiction, it works IF you park your ego, cynicism at the door and listen to the suggestions made by the therapists, they are all recovering addicts/alcoholics so are acutely aware of what it takes to recover. I had an amazing time at The Priory and tomorrow will be celebrating 4 months sober, which is something I never thought possible. It wont cure you, but it will give you the best possible start on your journey to live without drugs & alcohol. Still learning, and still early days, but an amazing experience and you might even make a few friends along the way. “There is a solution”

The Priory Hayes Grove Avanti Eating Disorder Unit literally saved my life.
The staff are amazing & the treatment programme is very in depth, covering all aspects required for recovery, from this terrible illness.
My Consultant Dr Lauren Gavaghan is the best I’ve ever seen. Her approach is firm but fair & she genuinely cares about her Patients.
I’m very grateful to have been seen by her as well as the rest of the team there.

I’ve had to change my mind about this hospital as at first I gave a 1 star review. But since getting over something that had happened to upset my daughter while she was staying in this hospital, I thought I should let people know that actually after my Daughter has been out of this hospital for 6 months I can clearly see the good work that this hospital has achieved with my daughter.
The doctor in charge of my daughter Lauren Gavaghan is simply the best thankyou so much….

From the first contact with the Admissions team to the moment I left, I felt cared for. The compassion, support, friendliness and positivity of every member of staff was truly inspiring to me. I was well fed, educated, exercised and relaxed into a state of contentment I’ve not felt in a very long time. Of course there were ups and downs during my 4 week stay, but I found if I asked for help, there were people ready to listen and take action. If you’re willing to put in the work and foster a caring environment with your fellow patients, there is a high chance that you will leave in a better state that the one you went in. Also, you can expect to gain 10lbs and eat like a king!

Was an inpatient at the priory for 4 weeks. My experience was extremely positive. All staff are very friendly, caring and just want to help. The hospital is clean the rooms are comfy. The Therapists are all incredibly experienced and just approach you with such understanding. Really can not understate how much going to the Priory saved and changed my life. I continue to go once a week for an hourly therapy which again is well structured and thought out. Really amazing people and service.

I just completed the 28 day Addiction Treatment Programme at The Priory. Although it’s early days, this has felt like a life changing experience. With the right work from me I feel more confident about a future free from addiction. The quality of the staff and the care I received was exceptional.
